The Pliocene epoch is a fictional time period in the Galactic Milieu universe that extends farther in the past than the scientific notion of the epoch by several hundred thousand years (6 million years in the past vs. scientific term which ranges no more than 5.333 million years in the past).
The Pliocene was notable as the nearly fixed time period to which the original time-gate could send exiles.
